PROCEDURES

All School volunteers must complete the background check through the school's parent liason.

Visitor/ Volunteer Tracking in 728 Buildings

ISD 728 uses Navigate 360’s Visitor Management System at all schools. This system will help build on the district’s campus safety efforts by better allowing us to track visitors in our schools and provide a consistent way to aid in keeping away people who may present a danger to our students and staff. We want to share some information with you about the Visitor Management System and what you can expect when you visit.

Upon being let into the school, all visitors will be asked to scan a government-issued ID at a kiosk in the front office. The system will capture the visitor's name, date of birth, and photo. Visitors will select the reason and specific location of their visit and see the front office staff for a wearable badge prior to entering the building.

Thank you, in advance, for your understanding and support of enhancing school safety protocols in our district.

Please contact the parent liason to register as a volunteer with TLES : Kaitlyn -kaitlyn.yorkovich@isd728.org

GUIDELINES

BE DEPENDABLE!
Students and staff count on you. Please come when scheduled and please be prompt. If you are sick or cannot come for some reason call the office at 274-7242 and leave a message for the faculty member or the coordinator of the program you are assisting with.

BE IMPARITAL!
Look at the whole picture and the factors that might explain a particular comment or situation. Do not make judgment based on false or inaccurate information.

NEVER GOSSIP ABOUT STUDENTS OR SCHOOL!
By accepting the role of VOLUNTEER you become a privileged insider. Please do not abuse the right to privacy of students and staff. They need to know that you can be trusted.

KEEP UP GOOD COMMUNICATIONS!
You need to know what is expected of you. If you do not know or do not understand something, please ask. Never Assume.

SIGN IN – ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST SIGN IN – IN THE OFFICE – EACH TIME THEY COME TO VOLUNTEER!
Twin Lakes Elementary volunteers are valuable assets and are greatly appreciated. We can’t make it work without your cooperation.

Description of Volunteer Opportunities

BookFair

Setting up the bookstands, organizing the books, running the cash register and taking down/packing up are all separate shifts. You can do as few or as many as you would like!

Picture Day

Assist students getting ready for their picture to be taken! Collars tucked properly, hair out of the face, necklaces straight, bright smiles!

Staff Meals

Our teachers deserve a break now and then and what better way to show appreciation than to feed them after a long day of school followed immediately by a long night of conferences.

Veteran's Day Program

This annual meet and greet celebrates Veteran's in the community as well as family members of students! Help is needed to serve a small breakfast, clean up afterward, take pictures with veteran's, set up chairs for an assembly, and stand at attention for the flag raising ceremony!

Painting Help for Kindergarten Project

Each year, Kindergarteners get a plank of wood that needs to be cut out to just their height and then painted white! Parents will do the hard work after school while the kids get to do the fun decorating during school!

Valentine Day Concert

Come help out while being seranaded by the sweetest students~

Spring Splash / Ollie Olympics:

The Physical Education Department will need a bit of help setting up, running, and putting away this fun in the sun!

Otterfest

There are chairpeople in different departments who are in charge of different areas of the carnival such as; games, raffles, decorations, ticket sales, food, auction baskets, setting up, running the games, cleaning up, etc. For all of the different departments, volunteers are needed to make everything come together!
